    We have P&P for free.

We recycle packaging where posssible. We ask the buyer if this is acceptable, which we have never had one refuse. I guess every little helps.
  • i always recycle packing, jiffy bags are usually good to go with a fresh label and a bit more tape on them
  • I would recommend using both. I have sold clothes on ebay and occasionally shoes. I bought my mail bags off ebay and only paid about £5 for 100 so the cost is small. I would save the used jiffy bags for sending shoes or anything more fragile. I charged 20p above the actual cost of postage to cover the cost of the bag, label and petrol to the PO. I would state in my listing that I may use recyled packing, but it is what is inside that counts!!
I personally would not care if someone had used recyled packing for an item sent to me, as long as they have not charged me £4.50 when it only cost £2.30 for the postage!

id put a note on the auction " i only charge actual postage and use recycled packing to keep postage costs fair"
  • Although I use plastic mailers sometimes, I also reuse jiffy bags and cardboard mailers (the kind that Amazon use for DVDs etc)and I have never had any complaints. I'm also happy when I receive ebay purchases in recycled packaging.

I don't mind if the packaging is recycled, either from a private or small business seller.
What I do dislike is so much brown tape around a parcel that you have to cut it to get into the parcel.
