We are FTB buying an empty property and the survey done was done on
16th Jan but we have have not heard anything back about the survey. However on the 20th we received a purchase of property questionnaire and introduction letter from our solicitors, the questionnaire was returned by recored delivery on 24th Jan.
Should we have heard about the survey by now? Has anyone else had to do a Purchase of property questionnaire?
we really want to move ASAP and our vendor chose us as she had relocated and didnt want to be paying 2 mortgages.

it depends on what sort of survey you've had done and the lender.
if it was just a lender's valuation, you will get a copy around the same time as your mortgage offer. If the survey was done on the 16th, have you chased the lender for your mortgage offer?
if you had a homebuyers' done you should have had a copy by now.0 -
As we are FTB we have no idea of time scales! Think it was just a valuation survey, would we be asked which type of survey we wanted or would it just be done ie homebuyers of full structural by the surveyors?Wins

You should have been asked which type of survey you wanted. The mortgage valuation is not a survey, just tells the lender they'll get their money back on the property if you default on the mortgage. The two types of survey are Homebuyers Survey or a Building Survey (the latter is the more detailed). They are all done for a fee so I guess the fact you weren't asked means you've just had the basic valuation. Perhaps you should check with your lender what's been done.0

I have spoken to our IFA who has advised me that the survey was done on 25th (even though they had previously told me it was the 16th) So we should know in a couple of days. Looks like it was just a mortgage valuation.Wins
