IB to ESA £ query

Just recd the letter stating they are begining my ESA investigations.Because its xmas & Bank hols coming up I'm panicking. We currently get IB +IS (+DLA discounted) (CTC and CB too) + mortgage IS help too.
Am I correct that if I was moved to ESA or JSA we would still get IS topup and so even if the ESA/JSA is lower than the IB the IS would be adjusted up?Can anyone reassure me please?.Then I can try to calm myself about the physical tests knowing that the basic income would apply if that makes sense.
Thankyou

You should get ESA(CB) for the IB and ESA(IR) as a replacement for your IS, the ESA(IR) will passport you through to the other benefits. You may also receive a top up if your current payments are more than those calculated under ESA.

You are mistaken, you wont get the same income regardless, your certainly not the only person who believes this though.

If you get "pass" the assessment you will get the same money for now but you wont get increases until ESA catches up with IB if your current amount is over what ESA claimants gets, my husband is on ESA in the support group and he gets much less than me for two diffrent reasons, the age addition and because IB was paid at a higher rate than ESA (even in the support group!)

If you fail the medical you lose the transitional protection that applys to all claimants transfered from IB to ESA so you wont get the same amount until/unless you win at appeal.

    Good luck.

thankyou both. What i meant was total family income being the same?.ie if the allowance was £200,IB £100 then IS would be £100 too so if ESA was £50 then IS would £150.

At present my IB is deducted from our jt IS and then we get a top up to IS rate.(The above figures are made up of course but thats a basic examplewhat i hoped would happen ).

i'm dreading it all,the last appeal having driven me to breakdown.i just want the £ straight in my head and ive realised that being the 20th oon monday if they are sending the form out soon with 31 days to return and get advice many of those will be xmas closures :(
