            Have been looking too...
The Fuji's I have looked at had poor reviews compared to earlier models (Fuzzy/Shutter lag)
The Nikon looks far better, available in red, too!0

Thanks for that, I had heard that Nikon was a better brand. Will do a bit more looking!0

SD has a Fuji s2950 and is more than happy with it although I've only got my compact camera photos to compare it to. Our local Asda has them for £120 at the moment0

Fuji s2950 is £104.99 on Amazon.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0

Yes thats the one we went for in the end too! Seems like a good deal.0

If you can pay a little more the Panasonic Lumix cameras are outstanding. Had one 4 years (largely the same -HD) and am regularly stunned with the results. Optic quality is everything.0

Hi, we had the panasonic before, it was quite old and didnt seem that great, hope this one is better! Now after a cheap case for it, they seem so expensive.0

Is the Nikon one pretty straightforward? My brother has asked me to help him as his 13 yr old daughter has asked for this model for Christmas after seeing my SLR and she loves it, obviously he's not going to spend £600 for one like mine but is this a good starting out camera for a 13 yr old with an interest in photography! She's obviously done her research as I rate Nikon very highly and my SLR is a Nikon. I just don't know too much about bridge cameras.~ What's for you, won't go past you! ~0

It is really a point and shoot automatic with a long zoom as there are not many manual controls, but this is made up for by the quality of the lens and pictures, I would advise buying some high capacity rechargeable NiMH batteries as depending on use it can get through ordinary AA's quite quickly.
At the price with the Nikon quality it must be a bargain especially for a young first time user.
