new latop not working properly

i bought an advent modena refurb in aug this year.

now cannot uninstall/install prgrams,or run my avast or malware.

can someone help me fix this as not very tech savvy.
i came into the world with nothing,and guess what? i still have it!!!:p

    Is it still under warranty? If so, the retailer is your first port of call.

    hi i am deaf cannot use a phone and they keep sending genric emails out with the phone no,cant even find an email address to the tech dept of dixons

    sounds more like an infection than any failure :(

    can you get into safe mode and run avast/MBAM from there as a starting point ??
