Charity giving & tax return

My son donates via his employer through the Give As You Earn scheme. He is also self-employed. Does anyone know whether GAYE payments require to be declared on his income tax return or is the charity question really only about gift aid payments?

The GAYE payments will be deducted from his salary before applying tax, so his taxable pay to date/P60 will show the amounts after deduction of GAYE, and that's what he should declare.0
