First communication re parking ticket from debt agency...

We received a letter from a debt agency about an unpaid parking ticket from Luton airport. However, we haven't received a ticket or a reminder or ANYTHING - until the letter from the debt collector. We called them immediately and we were told that there was nothing we can do but pay, but also they promised that they would send us the communications we should have received via post. That was a week ago and we haven't received anything. :mad:

Any advise of what we can do and how?

    At this stage as you have had no notification of a debt from the anyone, save the debt collection agency, who do they say the debt is owed to? Could it be, perchance, our old friends APCOA. They of the made up traffic rules?
    My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016). :(

    For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com

    Personally I'd ignore it.

    On another note though it could be worrying when PPCs do this once they have RK liability. I foresee a lot of PCNs never hitting windscreens but PPCs having photos of them attached..

    Why your obsession with RK liability? You have been told time after time that this will not affect anything. And why are you hijacking so many threads?

    1) RK liability will make no difference to this scenario.

    2) They are not real PCNs

    3) There is no requirement to attach anything to the vehicle , lots of parking companies issue invoices without even attempting to do so , indeed APCOA at Luton Airport issue them for alleged moving traffic contraventions using a camera van.

    4) Whether the PPC has a photo of a "ticket" on the windscreen is irrelevant , they don't even bother with such evidence now as there is no need.

    @OP -Ignore Roxburgh and APCOA Luton Airport.
  • BondyLad - don't have the details to hand, but will post more info as soon as I get home.

    TrickyWicky - I am not down with all the abbreviations - what is PPC and RK? Thanks :)

    PPC = private parking company

    RK = registered keeper.

    Because its a bad thing. Yes it will affect things. As I mentioned last night in another thread I know of two companies counting down the days until they get this new power to lord it over their victims.

    When you're able to recover your legal costs along with your original costs what do the PPCs have to loose?

    Not much.

    I completely disagree with this RK thing.. yet you lot continue to poke at me for trying to highlight the issue. I can't help but wonder why you're wanting it kept so quiet?

    Not wanting it kept quiet at all ,just wanting it accurately posted on ...you are failing on that front big time !

    You still don't get it do you? RK liability won't change anything. And what's with "recover legal costs"? Nothing in the bill changes that from the present position.
