  • There are a few reasonably priced hotels in Salou. We stayed in the Caspel last year. Its in a great location. We booked through holidayroomsdirect.com
You can catch the train into Barcalona for about a fiver. There are kiosks in Salou selling tickets for port adventura but don,t know how much they cost.

buy your portaventura tickets in the uk before you travel ( try googling holiday extras or keith prowse)
do train to barcalona but be very security concious- there are professional thieves on this route
  • Thanks, sounds promising, will hold on to my bag tightly! Hope to see it all soon!

Port Aventura is great and the beach seafront in Salou is nice. Although there are plenty of "English Pub" type places, this means that there is lots of accomodation. We stayed in Apartments Jerez, Cordoba Sevilla and had a 2 bedroom apartment sleeping 4-6 for less than £30 a night with Apartments Abroad (on the net). The apartments were about 5 mins from the beach, but were the top end of town (so nearer port aventura) we used to walk it (about 15 mins) but you could, as another poster suggest, get the little train (we did for novelty value one day).

We flew into Barcelona and got the train out. It takes an hour or so, and if it wasn't jam packed and hot, it would have been a nice scenic route.

If you have an airport that flys into Reus you are laughing. Salou is about 7 miles away, and PA, slightly less. There are local buses and buses run by La Plana that meet the flights. They are all online.

    Have a great time.

First thing to say is the theme park does`nt open `til the end of March.
Ryanair flight to Reus, local bus (plana) to Salou 9-95 euros return.
Reasonable but decent hotel San Diego https://www.besthotels.es
Train Salou to Barc or coach runs 3 times a day this time of year.
Was in Salou a week ago, like a ghost town.
    Season doesn`t start `til Easter.

I think Salou itself is awful and would choose to stay in one of the Port Aventura hotels if we go there again. Loved Port Aventura itself though and would go back for a short break as we've done it once already.
