I work two days a week and the grandparents pick them up from school on those two days, one day my parents, one day DH's. In the school holidays the grandparents have them for a full day on the days I work. We're very fortunate to have two sets of grandparents who are genuinely delighted to help, plus I'm fortunate to be able to do a good "career" job on a part-time basis. If they are sick on one of my working days, DH and I take it in turns/depending on our work commitments to take the day off and stay with them if they need us to, otherwise for simple colds etc they would probably go to grandparents.

Oh works Mon - Fro 8-5.30, I work 6-10 in a supermarket and weekends so we cover it between us.

Never see each other though and do miss out on 'family' time, but love the time we spend with the kids

I selected 3 of the options.

My 2 girls are in Junior school. DH works full time and I work 2 days a week.

Girls go to school club on Monday AM/PM and Thursday AM. DH picks them up on Monday and my parents pick them up on Thursday and they have tea there.

We look after them between us, but as we can't always have holidays when the schools are off, they are looked after by my parents.

Mine are at secondary school now, youngest is 11. I never paid for childcare, always worked part time. Worked evenings in a supermarket when they were very young, then worked from home doing data entry, then worked in an afterschool club and they stayed with me and also do market research during school hours.

I worl 8.30-3 x 5 days a week. Eldest is at Secondary school. Youngest goes to Breakfast club. Holidays are a combination of us both using AL (we only book same days off if we are actually going away) hubby working from home, holiday playschemes and sending them to Grandparents.
  • I work full time and husband stays home to look after the baby.

  • Both OH and I work fulltime
DS goes to breakfast and after school club costing £10.50 a day and for that he can have breakfast and dinner there too

Honestly don't know what I'd do without it!

DD1 & 2 in school full time. DS is in school (nursery so P/T) & I take girls to school for 9am, DS for 11am & back for all 3 at 3pm. So DH works & I took a career break after mat leave with DS ended. Back to work (hopefully if they'll take me!) P/T & term time hours. Certainly cannot afford paying for childcare so cheaper for me to work term hours.

Do you really mean your son eats all his meals at school during the week?
