can these players be used in the home via a mains adaptor ?

Also how are the monitors powered ?
  • The single screen Venturer 4.5in could be powered by mains adapter, so I would assume you can do the same with this.

As for screen power, I guess it will be a cable that runs between the unit and the screens.....

so, do these come with a mains adaptor ?

Also any multi region info and the types of discs it will play (dvd+r and so on) ?

    cheers
  • Is 4.5 " screen really that watchable?

Anyone any views on this, as I've got one reserved at my local Argos. Also, shows as £79.99 on the website, but £48.99 when you go through to checkout. Has anyone been charged £79?

    Many thanks
  • Got mine at lunchtime.... £48.99 and that was through online reservation, so no idea how anyone had it come up as anything different.

There is NO mains adapter - this is specifically an in-car DVD player.

It does have a 12v DC socket on it though so you can always buy one from argos/comet/maplin etc for next to nothing.

It also has an AV out socket (cable not supplied) so you can plug it in to your TV at home if you want to.

Strictly speaking it's Region 2, but I'm sure there's probably a code out there somewhere.
Doesn't play DVD-R or DVD-RW - an issue we discovered on the old single portable version.

As for the screen size - for an adult 4.5" maybe small, but for kids on a trip, it's enough to keep them quiet!!!
  • Thanks for that. I actually already had one reserved at £58.99 and now it is £10 cheaper at £48.99 - bargain!

I got mine to play DVD-R and DVD+R with no problems at all. Would love to find a region free hack if anyone gets one :)

Screen size is fine - I only wish the screen cables were detachable from the screens to aid installation. The included cable can be used for either video out OR video in.
