We moved in the same town last year when DD was 12 months. We had my mum and dad come down and take her out for teh day, we paid for packers so we didn;t have to do any of that ourselves, and we unpacked like crazy as soon as boxes came in.
It wasn;t stressful at all. DD seemed unphased and settled in easily enough.:cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :cool::heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

Depends on the age of your kids. We moved when DS was 19 months old. I arranged for someone to have DS for the day - she was unable to, as she was ill that day. It meant there was 1 less pair of hands cos I was unable to help. So if they are young enough for you to need a babysitter, have a contingency plan. OTOH I was 11 3/4 when my parents moved and I helped them fetch in boxes etc.0
