QUOTE=sweetpea26;57284421]hi
Just noticed that I have had a payment taken out by the following company
DIGITAL SATELLITE
08448797728 NR1 4DY
This is what is on my credit card statement. I rang the above number and a woman stated that I had taken out a 12 month contract on the 9th August. I didn't as I already have a 3 year cover with another company.
She said that I could not cancel because the only way this could have been set up is by me providing my details to them. I told her NO way had I done this and that I had received absolutely no details of cover in the post.
She then continued to say that I should have received it otherwise the documentation would have been returned to them and that she has had no returned mail.
I realised that when she gave my address as number 3 instead of number 30 that something must be very wrong.
I asked that she send out this existing policy in the post, so I could take it to my solicitor. She then said a very immediate yes and hung up.
I have rang my credit card company and they are sending out a form to claim the money back and stop payments.
Has this happened to anyone else? I pay bills, shop etc etc online and am extremely careful with my details. To be honest this has annoyed me greatly.
I would appreciate any help.
thank you
I am also on the TPS system which blocks UK based marketing calls.[/QUOTE]0 -

the reason most of the people on here assume that sky insure there own systems is because they endorse a company called domestic and general which pay sky to use there name and logo on paperwork, quite misleading in itself wouldnt you say, now and one can sell insurance to cover sky systems as long as you follow fca guidelines. by fca i mean the governing body of banks and insurances. now if you were to buy a car from bmw, bmw wouldnt insure it would they? no it would be a 3RD PARTY INSURER so do the math and your home work before thinking you know it all, and before you wonder why i know all this? apart from common sense ive studied this industry for 6 years most bad companys no longer trade its just you guys giving good companies a bad name0 -

Odd that you should dig out a two your old thread to have some sort of rambling rant at people.0 -
Holy resurrected thread!
By the by, you can pick up second hand sky boxes for approx £30-£40 most of the time. That is, if you don't get any joy from calling Sky and threatening to leave."Beautiful young people are accidents of nature, But beautiful old people are works of art."
