I have been downloading CDs via Windows Media Player and sync to MP3 player. It has worked perfectly well in the past but now each time I connect the MP3 player the PC locks and I have to switch off and then on again before I can do anything else. Can anyway explain what is happening or what I may be doing wrong.

I suspect its drawing too much current from the motherboard, you need a mains powered USB hubEx forum ambassador

I did try another USB port and it still didn't work. What I can't understand is that I already dowloaded quite a bit without any problems, there is still space to download more but as I said the MP3 crashes my system.0
