Hi! Does anyone have any ideas of how I could grab myself a ' safari bargain'
Got loads of questions, so if anyone can help, that would be great.

I guess it depends on where and when you want to go - plus what you consider a bargain! To do safari on the cheap, you could go out of season, but then you have less chance of seeing the beasties! The price difference can be around 30% (That's what I'm doing though - off to Kenya in April).

If you want to see events such as the migration of the wildebeast, then there are only certain times and places you can go - and that means paying more.

Check out the thorn tree forum at http://www.lonelyplanet.com/ along with the country guides there, and of course the books themselves list tours and operators that cater to the different budget levels. Another website I get a lot of use out of when planning holidays is https://www.virtualtourist.com

  • Thanks for info Shimrod! Will have a good look at all the websites and see whats on offer. Maybe I shouldn't think too much about the money as this will be ' a once in a life time' experience.
