recovery from camera

my brother has a digital camera which he accidently deleted a photo from.... he doesn't have a memory card (yet) so all pics are stored on the camera ... i got him to download pc inspector thinking it might have worked in finding the deleted pic, but it never.... all it found was the pics already on the camera , does the pc inspector only work with memory cards? or is there anything else i can tell him to help find the pic.. thanks in advance

Theres a great program on the Mac called Data Rescue II. Saved my !!! last year, even recovered images that were shot 6 months earlier!

I think there is a PC version of the program, worth a look:

thanks alan but does this not work the same way as pc inspector, on reading your link it mentions recovery of removable media disks.... is there anything that will let me recover from the memory of a camera itself

It may still work as when you plug a USB flash drive into the computer, it often shows as removable media.

and is this any better than pc inspector just so i can tell my brother to try this one
