Gnuplot

I am hoping that someone on here knows how to use gnuplot properly.

There are a couple of things I am not sure about.
I have some data points from an experiment and I have plotted them using gnuplot. I have also defined a function with 4 parameters (a,b,c,x0) and have used the fit function to fit the function to my data.

What I am wanting to know is:
a) how do I get gnuplot to display the values of the parameters after I have fitted the function to my data
b) how do i set the colour of the data points or the fit line when I actually plot them.

Thanks
