pc not fit for purpose?

I have looked into maybe getting a new case, but even this seems to be difficult with this specific machine.
I would have thought any PC could be transferred to a new case... unless there's some seriously esoteric hardware inside.
It's really easy to build your own PC. I'm surprised to hear suggestions that you take a short study course to learn how. With some (okay, admittedly quite a few) web searches you can quickly get a handle on the technologies involved. Then you just need some benchmarks and product reviews, a few price comparisons, and one final "sanity check" to make sure everything is going to fit together and be compatible, and just slot everything together.0 -

What may deem easy for you, may not be for others. How many machines have you wrecked?. One of the most common remarks when a broken machine is brought in. Is 'But it said on the internet' when you tell them whats wrong.0 -

I've built a few PCs from scratch now (and taken a lot more apart), but I've never ever wrecked one! I didn't know anything much about hardware initially, but just looked up what I needed to know online. As long as you've grasped the basics (e.g. you need a specific type of chip for a particular motherboard) then you can't really go wrong - it's like Lego...
But it does take a bit of time to do your research if you know nothing at all. I guess it just depends on whether you'd find it interesting or rewarding (knowing you've got the best PC for your money). If not, then you could just buy a pre-built PC... But if you don't know anything about hardware you aren't going to know what you're buying...
I've noticed that the PCs in many well known retailers often seem to "cut corners" by using chips and hard drives with small caches, which affects performance (for a small cost saving) but isn't mentioned in the "headline specifications". One "dual core 1.8GHz PC with 6GB RAM and a 320GB hard drive" can be quite different to another depending on the chip architecture, cache, whether you have double- or triple-channel memory, and so on.
So... whether you want to get a pre-built PC or do-it-yourself, I'd still suggest doing a bit of research anyway...0 -
I'm assuming we are talking Elder Scrolls Skyrim for the game you have just bought? I'm looking at my own machine specs because of that game to see if I can run it.
Unfortunately I don't think you have any options except to take it to an expert (a local shop rather than a PC world type though) and get it upgraded.0
