For some reason I cannot "thank" posters?

Hi - as I've headed this query, for the past few days, I have been unable to post "thanks" for any posts that I've wished to thank - not that many, but a few.
I've not, to my knowledge, transgressed any rules (if I have, I've not been notified) and I have been able to post - but its just a puzzle as to why I can't thank people for posts that I've considered to be good.
Any suggestions/reasons please????
