Sold House Price within last 2 months

Hi,
We are looking to buy a property in a road where nothing has sold since 2004, except for the house direclty next door, which the vendors told us had been moved into about a month ago.
Zoopla appears to only have sold house prices from over 2 months ago. Any ideas how we could find out how much the house next door sold for?

Wait a few weeks? The land registery and all the house price sites seems to lag about 2months behind.
Or you could try asking the people who moved next door (they might be happy to tell you, especially if they realise it will be public knowledge next month), perhaps you could knock andbe chatty, ask them about the area etc say you are interested in next door and then ask what they paid - of course you'd have to take their word that they were telling the truth.
Are there no similar roads nearby that would be comparable in value?A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
Knock and ask?
You could act innocent, say you're thinking of offering on the house next door, so just wondered what it was like living on the street, and when they mention they've only been there a month, just say "can I be cheeky and ask how much you paid for it?". If they won't tell you, then just say fair enough, I guess it'll be on the land registry in a couple of months so I'll have to be patient.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Find out who sold the property next door and phone the agent and ask what the sale price was While they may not tell you the exact figure they may give you an idea
I recently had an offer accepted in similar circumstances but the same type of house on the road had a Sale Agreed sign up I phoned and asked the asking price and what they achieved and they happily told me!0
