Vauxhall wing mirror glass stolen!
Hi,
I had my wing mirror glass stolen from my car, driver and passenger side. They had the decency to leave all the little wires in tact though!
I have been looking on the internet and found some wing mirror glass for my model for about £17 per side. I phoned Vauxhall and they have quoted me £50 (may have been more but it was a while ago and can't remember exaxctly) for each bit of glass!
When I told them I could get it cheaper somewhere else they said that they would not be the proper glass that's made to fit my model and the chances are it may not fit correctly.
Who should I trust? Do I got for the cheaper glass or just go with Vauxhall?
Thanks

Get onto Ebay, I got genuine VX Glass for my Vectra at around £25 each, (there are a few Vauxhall parts specialists on Ebay) they included the heating element backplate.
It's worth noting that if you have heated mirrors don't just buy stick on glass, it'll fall off.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Someone did the same to my 2006 Sporthatch on the drivers side.

I used these people, the mirror has a plastic backplate and a heater element attached to the back.
Mine fit perfectly.

I bought a replacement from Fleabay for around £12. The heating element works just fine. The man without a signature.0

I bought one off ebay for the wifes Vectra c a couple of weeks ago. It was £10 and had the heating element fitted. Easy to fit no problems.
It did take about 2 weeks to be delivered though, so not sure how you would stand if you got pulled up in the meantime ?0 -
Not in Stoke are you? Been a few thefts from Astra's in the ST3 area now, all wing mirror covers though not the glass, although I now have CCTV on the car should they return...0
