would we be entitled to anything?

Just asking as a sort of 'what if', as i *might* (big might) be pregnant

I currently work part time, but the shop is for sale and so i should be out of work by feb, i plan on getting another job obviously

I also work from home, but dont earn very much at all, less than £100 a week, probably less than £50

OH works full time, earns around £1200pm after tax

we live with his dad, we pay £500 rent, plus shop for all 3 of us. It's his dads morgage

i'm 21, OH is 24

if I am expecting, I'm guessing it will be incredibly difficult to find work, but i will still be trying.

So with a total monthly income of around £1300pm (assuming im out of work), and a child, would we be able to claim any help?

we're hoping (if we are expecting) that we can do without it, my business is getting a lot more interest and takings are getting more (yes im HMRC reg), so i'm going to be doing a lot more advertising and legwork to get it off the ground a bit more, maybe do some events :jso we'll see :D

Child benefit is a right, you dont have to do without it. You are entitled to it.

Good luck, with the baby and the business.

You'll get some tax credits on that sort of income, with one child the income limit is about £26k gross next tax year, or much higher if you both work and need childcare. (this year it's about £41k but assume you're not that far gone...)
