......here's the question. Taking aside Sky's 'special offers' as far as I can see, the only way to save a bit is by doing the ordering from sky's website- which gives back £10 credit.
The biggest cost issue are the teo boxes at £99 each. If I went into a retail shop, what would they say if i told them 'we want to get sky+multiroom. we are going to get it from sky but would be tempted from your shop if you could give us a discount on the boxes etc.'
....as surely they go with sky's prices? ie. a retail shop would not be able to offer eg 6 months half price if that's not sky's special offer?

You have certainly confused me! However just looking at the BB alone, why are you willing to pay £17.99 for 1MB when you can get 2MB for £9.99? Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
Buy a used Sky Digibox from eBay for £20 - £30. You can use this as your second box and get a multiroom card for it from Sky.
£10 a month multiroom is waived if you subscribe to one or more Sky Premium packages. You get your 2nd viewing card free in those circumstances. So your costs will be £30 (used Digibox) + installation fee + annual subscription of around 37 x 12 = £444.0 -
not touching ebay. clears that up then.
as for BB- no letter through the post letting us know about that deal! You are right though. Called them up and it's being done next month. My set top box can only handle 1mb so 2mb doesn't go through
To clarify my question in leamons terms....
We are getting Sky+ Multiroom.
We currently have ntl.
We want to keep zee tv on ntl as it's cheaper than the similar asian channels on Sky. We cannot just have zee as the only channel on ntl. We have to downgrade to their cheapest package- base pack at £5.50 per month.
So we would cancel the sports channels and all other packs and put them onto sky.
So the question I had was, I could easily call up Sky and order this (I am not bothered about special offers eg half price first 6 months etc)
(Though something like this would be nice.)
...But Sky would not give me a discount. I'd pay their prices.
If I went into eg Dixon's and said this is what I want. Would they be able to give me a discount on-
a) a deal such as offering me the first 6 months half price (I doubt this as it's Sky's service and Dixon's is just selling the equipment and packages
b) on the Sky+ multiroom boxes0
