Which Camera?

Hi,

I have narrowed my selection to:
Panasonix TZ18
Canon SX220
Nikon S9100

Panasonic & Canon are cheaper due to cashback promos thus lead the race. Reviews contradict somewhat, so a little unsure which is best?

Can anyone advise? If you've purchased one of the above you may well have had the same dilemma?

All depends on what you want the camera for, and what sort of photos you plan to take with it.

Looks like general purpose 'i don't know' photography.. mini 'big zoom' cameras. About the only difference in specs i can see is a slightly wider aperture on the wide angle in the canon

Go to a shop, try them... choose the one that 'feels' right.. they're all about the same anyway

It is a general purpose camera and indeed a mini big zoom, rather than having a bulky SLR - fully appreciate SLW qualiry will be much better.

Plan was to visit shop, preferably Jessops, as if you visit PC World etc you tend to know more than them after donig research! Sad thing is very few independent camera retailers about, did have a Wildings in Wilmslow but they went bust :-(

Had made mind up on Panasonic TZ18, one of the computer magazines only gave it 2 out of 5 but loved the Canon, so all confused!!

BTW, these will all be quite average in low light due to their lens

Personally, i'd be wanting something smaller, with a lesser zoom range (and better low light abilities) and more manual controls.. but then again i am saving for a Panasonic LX5

Consider Canon S95, not big zoom though, has just been superseded by the S100

I prefer the Canon SX220.I like the sharp of it.
