Can anyone recommend a cheap hotel in newcastle or within very close proximity for two nights 20th April, please.

try travelodge..they are at Seaton Burn, Gateshead, city centre and airport I think. Book early for £15 or £26 rooms.

Campanile worth a try - bit out of town but cheap and good. If you can Travelodge its in a brill position near Quay

Hi - There's a very new Holiday Inn Express in the centre of town and a Premier Travel Inn on the Quayside (brill if you're coming for a night out). Both of these are usually pretty cheap and of a nice standard. You'll also be able to walk anywhere in Newcastle centre from these two.
