Closed Swimming Pool at Holiday Resort

Hi All,

I have just returned from a two week holiday with First Choice. When I Arrived I discovered that the main pool and one of the resteraunts would be closed for the duration of the holiday.

I have raised mt complaint and been adivised of the 28 day turn around. My question is two fold

1) WHat kind of compensation should i hope to expect from them?

2) I paid my dpeosit on a credit card, my understanding is that the CC firm will be liable due to the CCA, so should i complain to them also or await for a reply from First Choice

Thanks in advance

you need to find out why the pool and resturant were closed, it could of been for safety reasons, etc

or perhaps it was out of season?

check your paperwork/website where you books as small print may say that certain things are not available out of season etc

Did it say anywhere in the brochure that facilities may be rescricted from Oct onwards - it usually does cause it is off peak for majority of 'sun' holidays.
  • How much was the holiday?
    Thinking critically since 1996....
  • Everything should have been open and was just being closed for upgrading so no health and safety issues. There was one small pool and the swim up rooms had pools but they were all tiny compared to the main pool. As for eating there were still a further 4 places available so that was not the end of the world.

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride

I would be wanting a small discount for having no main pool, but other than that, at least you had use of a pool and plenty of restaurant choice.
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
