Most 60 cm induction hobs need a 30A supply so if you have a 30A supply for your cooker and hob, there is a bit of a problem.

Neff do the T42E20 designed to work of 13A feeds and aimed at the replacement market. This would a 16A cooker would work on the 30A feed if both are downfused.

A sparky may be able to suggest an alternative.

I am very surprised that you find induction slower than gas. Are you comparing similar power outputs. Did you check this prior to buying? Thats a critical factor. I have actually timed both on 2.4kW output hobs and the gas was atleast 30% slower. Ceramic/Halogen was still slower.

I dont think anyone sells the lower temperature feature as a selling point over gas. Its a comparison point to halogen.

It's one of these and is an utter heap of junk:

I wish I could have my old gas hob back

Something just isnt right with it. Get it checked.

We have this http://neff.co.uk/T44T97.html on display and they share components for the flexible zones. Its a brilliant bit of kit.

Couple of more specific points about the appliances you have mentioned. Double ovens - quite old fashioned now, we only really sell double ovens to replace an old existing one. In a new kitchen single ovens with a compact appliance or a combination of single ovens and compact appliances is the thing now as you choose the right combination of cooking appliances for you......

Arghh, We are getting our kitchen done in April and I thought that I had it all planned. But now I don't know what to do about the oven as I was going to go for a double oven. No reason excet that I thought double would be best. At the minute we have a freestanding cheap gas oven which is quite small inside. (grill inside oven but we never use it).

Would I be better off going for a single built in electric oven and then a built in microwave - maybe with a grill facility? (Hubby was against a built in microwave as he thinks it would be difficult to replace if it broke)

    Hi

If you look at a manufacturer like Miele you will see there are no double ovens in the range at all. This is because all their efforts go into building the best single ovens they can, and their thoughts are if you want 2 ovens then buy 2 ovens not one appliance that has 2 ovens in it.

A classic combination is a single oven with a combination microwave oven over. This is fine, you will get a grill in both but generally the grill in the oven is more powerful. If you can afford it then have a 'Pyrolytic' version of oven as it will truly clean itself.

A getting to be more popular alternative to the combination microwave oven or an additional appliance if you have the budget and space is a steam oven or even a steam combination oven. But its not for me to sell you the advantages of these appliances, its your kitchen designer's job!

    Good luck
