balance transfer confusion

Hi, Ive transferred before from card to card but this time came across a problem. I transferred mid october from Santander to Barclaycard a balance of 1000. Barclaycard have on the statement that the transfer took place on the 26th October whilst the balance on the Santander card was still 1000. Until yesterday Santander still had my balance as being 1000 and as of today have charged 24 in interest making total 1024. In the meantime Barclays have already issued me with my statement for next months payment. When I spoke to Santander a week or so ago about it (before interest had gone on) they said that it does sometimes take a few days for the transfer to take place. Is this right, I feel as if Im being stitched up by santander holding on to an account balance even though it has already been transferred? Can anyone explain to me if this is right and if not what I should do about it!
Many thanks in advance

Once the money has been sent, ie debited to your Barclaycard, it takes a maximum of 3 working days to arrive...and maybe an extra day for Santander to show it on your online transactions.
Something has gone wrong here. I assume you've doubled checked the correct 16 digit card number has been used by Barclaycard? Did you make the BT online or over the phone with them?0 -
No I did it online, but I'll get in touch with them to check the number was correct! will let you know. many thanks0

This may confuse things, but I've known balance transfers take anywhere from three to eight working days.0

Just to update - I made a BT request on Monday with Barclaycard. the transaction has been formally on my account since Tuesday but as yet hasn't been actioned in the receiving account.
I anticipate that it will be Monday or Tuesday before everything is straightened out.
Of course this could be to do with the receiving bank, not necessarily the sender.0
