I went to do the 30 day trial with experian,it asked me if i had done a free trail previously for which i answered " i dont know" . It then proceeded to tell me I had registered before but carried on taking me through the free trail process, It asked me for my card details saying it would`nt charge me it just needed it for verification.
I read the report ,gave myself a reminder to cancel before the 30 days were up and left it at that.
Today i checked my credit card balance to notice that after 10days experian had taken £15.99 from my account.
Under no circumstances was i informed at any stage that I would not recieve a free trial or that £15.99 was to be taken from my card .
I contacted them to be told i should have read the small print and it does tell you I would be charged .
I then told them i was invoking the 14 day cooling off period to be told i could only claim back £6.99
anybody else had similar ?

Well what did the small print say? Just because it was small and you didn't read it doesn't mean you shouldn't be charged for it (if you agreed of course!).Thinking critically since 1996....0

This is not about what the small print says its about having £15.99 taken from my card without my consent..I would`nt expect to go onto Amazon ,look at the goods then expect my card to be debited without me clicking "buy" which is what happened here.
Experians rehearsed resonse tells me I`m not the first ,in fact I think they have been fined previously for something similar.
Not once was I informed of the £15.99 charge...I cant even find reference to charge on their website
 ...ref the service quote...
It may well be a service but if they charge me £15.99 a month then i have the right to cancel it after 14 days Always remember that you're unique, just like everybody else:cool:0 Always remember that you're unique, just like everybody else:cool:0

Strange because i tried the same thing the other day, Register for a free trial but it told me i was already
registered and to use my original login details.
NO free trial offered. Problem is i dont know my original login details. And im not paying £15 odd a month thank you.
£2 for a printed statement will suit me fine.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0

yeah,i managed to cancel it using the 14day cooling off period but only got£6.99 back (insurance). They insisted that i was informed i would be charged £15.99 ,but if i was it wasnt very clear as i wouldnt have paid it it really is that simple...the ironic thing is it put me £1.50 od on my card thus leaving a credit trace for a default on an otherwise spotless credit ratingAlways remember that you're unique, just like everybody else:cool:0
