And thanks for the advice I am only doing cones for female guests and will get confetti from ebay.
thanks0 -
Oh no I hadn't even thought of doing confetti
We have 70 day guests but most are families and children so how many should I account for? I've just seen on eBay 48 boxes of confetti for about £20 and I can maybe use our left over invites from vista print for the cones. Then i just need to buy a large basket or container.
Does that sound ok? Thanks

I hadn't either - but someone had and so we had the picture done like the one above! So glad that someone had thought of it!
I wouldn't bother getting too many packets, maybe 10 and that will be plenty! I'm sure if you had a cone for every guest that would be too much, not everyone would bother, and you'd get fed up!Virtual Sealed Pot Challenge #148 - £59.93

I was always under the impression that the guests brought their own confetti! I would just have a small basket of it on offer as people left the venue to take a handful. I have also found that it can be a bit of a weird one, as when do you throw it? I always thoguht it was as they left the venue, but as bride and groom leave first then this doesn't work. If you ask the photographer to do a confetti shot maybe just have a basket and hand it out then,to save people having it in their hands all that time....

It hadnt even occurred to me to provide the confetti
I have 70 guests but alot are in families, couple and children so I think I'll make out 40/50 cones and leave them in a basket my the door kn the way out. We can't use the confetti near the church it has to be by the exit gates so I don't want people grabbing handfulls out of a basket and dropping it everywhere so I like the idea of using cones for them to hold
I've seen 20 boxes on eBay for £10 odd so I can split that into the cones hopefully

If you are going to do cones or some confetti in a basket and leave it by the door...make sure that someone uses it and actually takes the confetti...a wedding I went to recently you would be surprised at the number of guests who walked past the basket, commented how lovely it looked ...but didnt think to take a bag of confetti....so if you have someone to hand it out or at least encourage those who want to take one its a good idea....frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

I always thought the guests brought their own confetti, another thing to add to my list, think I'll do comes too and give my two daughters a basket each to hand out. That is if they want to do it and if the venue allows confetti.0

Thanks Wanchai - I tried to put a few photos on the November thread but it wouldn't work. Is Flickr no good for posting individual images? The only thing to do would be to post the link to the whole album but didn't want to bore everyone to death!
Eh, bore away!!!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I'm with Hadley1 and VICSH, I'd LOVE to see them all

We will be going down the aisle first, but we will stand at the (huuuge) church door and greet everyone on the way out, it won't take too long. Then when everyone is outside we will make our triumphant exit and hopefully that will be confetti time!

Yes, my friend did this - she got the children to hand round the basket of confetti cones, it was so sweet. I'm defo nominating someone to give out our confetti, don't want it going to waste!
Can't wait to make the cones, will just buy dried flower petals in vintage-looking colours (pale pink, blush, cream etc) to tone in with our mismatched shabby chic 'theme'. 7 Feb 2012: 10st7lbs

This was the one thing I was a bit Bridezilla about - the cones had to be ivory, personalised as a keepsake, and filled with dark red dried rose petals as they matched my bouquet
I didn't want paper confetti melting onto my dress or scruffying up the pavement outside our ceremony venue!
They were very bargaineous though - £29.99 for 30 from here

The only confetti we are allow is real fresh rose petels, so we are providing it & have to tell guests they can't bring their own, unless it's as above. I've never been to a wedding in this country where we have been given it always taken my own.Married the man of my dreams - 10th September 2012, St Paul's Bay Lindos :jIt was amazing.
