@ Bexter. Thanks. I know my savings will build up swiftly now so am not overly worried, but the life time saver in me doesn’t like not having a bit more money in the bank. I need to change my outlook slightly now towards spending a bit more frequently, maybe even a few days away here and there.

It’s a strange feeling paying it off, and relief is probably the best way to describe it.

@GallyGirl. Again thank you. You look like you are making great headway into the mortgage on your house so you will have the same feeling soon yourself.

I don’t know how long it will last but today the drive to work didn’t seem quite as long and swiping in didn’t seem as difficult, but you are right I need to think about career direction when I have my savings back.

I am a couple of weeks on from paying off the mortgage and the reality of the situation is starting to finally set in. haven’t felt this calm for a lot of years and knowing I am comfortable regardless of what happens going forward is worth every day of the sacrifices I have taken to get to this point.

I have also got my deeds back from the bank which is really a low key thing. I don’t know what I was expecting but considering it is a big deal to most of us you only really get a standard letter and a few bits of paper.

I doubt I will post much to this diary now but I wish you all the best in your quests for mortgage freedom and hope you all get there within your planned timescale.
