Claim?

Hi All - I used to have a Debenhams credit card, which was with GE Money, and I believe this is now Santander. I closed this account around 3 years ago. Would I be eligible for a PPI claim, as I know I paid it every month? The only thing is, I have no record of the account number now...............

No. You can only claim on an insurance policy if it is still in force. Once you stop paying premiums, the benefits from that policy cease to be available to you.

  • I think she may be talking about claiming back the PPI because of misselling??? Not making a claim on the insurance!

The key question (if you're talking about asking them for a refund) isn't the fact you had PPI, but whether it was missold.

Have a look at the guide for more information: http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance

Since the account was still open quite recently, Santander should have no difficulty in tracing your account number if you ask for it. Give them your name, address, date of birth etc.

Sorry. I read claim as meaning claim. Not complaining.

In which case, yes, you can complain.
