How to start a chargeback - Nationwide

Hi,
I brought something on Ebay and it turned out to be a scam. I have contacted Paypal and they have been less than helpful (they basically want me to return a Yellow piece of paper that I was sent, back to china recorded delivery before they will issue a refund, even though they've acknowledged it was a scam and I've provided proof). This will cost me £7 when the initial purchase was only £20.84.
As I paid via my Nationwide credit card tied to my Paypal account, I want to start a chargeback to retrieve the money, as I feel it is unfair that I should have to spend £7 returning a yellow piece of paper to a scammer, to get £20 back. How would I go about initiating a chargeback to retrieve the money?
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Ross

But I doubt they will pay out in this instance, because it went through paypal and so all natiowide can do is try to get the money from paypal, not from the person who scammed you.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
You need to phone nationwide to see what they say. BUT, if Paypal are offering you a refund (which they are) then a chargeback would reject. If you've been scammed, then it's not really Nationwides or Paypals fault, they're offering to refund, i'd take it, at least you'll only be £7 out of pocket.0
