Storing home made bread

To all you lovely home bread bakers out there, after reading all of your adventures here I have decided to start making my own bread again, and so far I have been successful, but I am wondering if there are new storage solutions these days, it's been a while since I baked and I can't for the life of me remember what I used to do all those years ago.:o

  • I always wrap the bread in a tea towel then put in a carrier bag. Probably not that attractive but it works for us, however, I'd be interested to hear what other people do

    Hi Mrs Huggett,

I use a (clean) teatowel to wrap it in too. This thread has lots of advice and ideas that may help:

I'll add your thread to that one later to keep the suggestions together.

Morning! I just make sure mine is properly cooled, then pop into a (re-used) plastic freezer bag, and do up with one of those clippy things. And then it goes in the bread bin. As long as there is no condensation from hot bread it seems to keep well for a few days, or it would, if the family didn't keep eating it!
