Hi
Can some one give me some advice please on tax credits? I have 1 child and currently earning £13350 gross per year my husband is self employed but it's looking like he wont earn anything this year but have asked tax office to base our calculations on £6000 gross. I have an opertunity to increase my income to £16700 gross but unsure whether I loose too much in tax credits for 2012-13. Can anyone advise me?

It's always worth taking a permanent increase in income, as you'll gain more in income long term than you'll lose in tax credits & tax.
A temporary increase is more complicated, depends on what your income was last year and what it's likely to be next year.0
