calculating gas units

Options
Five years ago we moved into a new house, i'ts a 2 bedroomed new build house with 5 radiators, we had a new combi boiler fitted, we dont cook with gas or a gas fire. Up until recently all that lived in house worked all day so no gas was used until we got home and first thing in morning. Since moving in the house we have used 1860 units of gas in total can anyone please tell me the cost of the gas we have used from May 2006 to 16/11/11

  • It's not really possible to give you an answer, as it depends on what tariff you've been on.

Some companies charge the same price for all units and then a daily standing charge - others do not charge a standing charge, but charge 2 different unit prices ......so much for the first so many units and then another price for the remainder.

Obviously prices have also changed dramatically in the period of time you are asking about.

Are you asking because you have not been billed for 5 1/2 years?

I use this site (but bear in mind what I said about the difference in price between May 06 to present day)

I am sure somebody much more knowledgeable than me will be along to maybe be of more help.

Depends on your meter (are those metric or imperial units?).

Depends on where you are in the country.

    Depends on your tariff.

At present rates, around 3.5p per kWh. No one can tell you the kWh amount without knowing if you have a metric or imperial meter. Then just multiply by the relevant conversion factor, and add the daily standing charge.
