New to reclaiming

Hi everyone,
I'm new to the idea of reclaiming for lenders and although I have read the fantastic material on this site, I am still a little bit confused/daunted.
I had a loan from 5 years ago from Egg (who sold their loads recently to Barclays and then the loan is being handled by an outfit called Moorgate Loan Servicing Ltd) Now, do i approach Egg, Barclays or Moorgate Loan Servicing?
Is there a pre-formated letter I can use to send to my other lenders/borrowers that will get the ball rolling?
It was also advised that the lenders will refuse most claims initially in an attempt to deter you from a claim. If this happens, how do you follow it up?
I was approached by several companies (Echo-Shock & Lifestyle Claims) and I was wondering if, realistically, if they are worth using?
Any help or advice would be awesome as if there is a real claim here then the financial institutions should be held accountable.
Many thanks everyone

Hi and welcome
As far as I am aware you will have to send your complaint to Barclays who are now dealing with EGG complaints, make them aware though the complaint is via EGG.
A reclaim questionnaire replaced the template letter, and you will find this below on step 3.

So long as you have your account number you can continue to make a reclaim without the need of requesting for the paperwork.
So complete and send to their complaints dept or head office, save copies for yourself as well, this is in case you need to complain to the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS), such as if the business do not uphold your complaint in your favour by the final decision.
So basically you need to keep at them until your happy with the outcome, for example, if they reject, they sometimes give you the opportunity to write back with further information.
They should also enclose details of the FOS in case you want to complain by the final decision.
Personally, I would give the reclaiming a go yourself, this way you will get to keep your refund of the PPI, and there is also less paperwork involved by doing this yourself than using a claims company.
Hope this helps, good luck. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

If you feel you have a case that you can back up with facts (account numbers, reasons for mis-sale , then go for it, read the page in the link above for valid reasons, good luck
Many thanks everyone
1 I think it's probably best to approach Barclay's but make them aware it was an EGG loan

Scroll to section 3 and download in Word or PDF
3 Cross that bridge if it comes to it
4 NO NO NO, they have no better odds than you doing it yourself, despite what they may tell you.
