  • Probably best to ask DD. For £10 I would have thought toiletry gidt set or CD/DVD, bottle of booze. Your DD may have a more exciting idea.

  • Is he 20 or 21 on his birthday? If it were me I'd probably do just card for 20th but a pressie if 21. If he came around on the day I probably make sure I had something nice in cake or such.

A voucher for itunes or Starbucks would I imagine be appreciated, and would be a fairly safe option (your daughter can probably advise on what he likes). Cinema tickets? Again it'd have to be a voucher. For a non voucher-based gift, like others have said alcohol, toiletries, chocolate, a book. Definitely check with your daughter though, either to run an idea past her (no point in getting him a bottle of wine if he doesn't drink) or to see if she has any suggestions.

I'd say for the birthday just get a card.

I really would get a starbucks voucher. Seems a bit like "here, have a coffee!". Poss a topman voucher for a £10er? I would go with perhaps smellies though?
