Baxi 105e - no hot water

Mum has just bought a new house. It has a Baxi 105e boiler that needs looking at. The central heating works but the hot water doesn't. There's a slight drip on the right hand side of the boiler unit.

Are there any deals whereby someone will sort it out for a fixed price, and then perhaps cover it for 12 months?

    Baxi will for £299!

Probably only needs a new diaphragm. Leak could be the auto air vent.

It's had a new diaphragm, but no joy. I've been having a look at it and I can see where the diaphragm is and that it should operate a pin to operate a microswitch, which I assume, will fire the hot water circuit up. I'm wondering whether this little pin in the centre of the diaphragm housing is stuck and whether or not I should have a look at it.

Baxi were talking about sorting it out and then said it would be covered for 12 months, as you say, I think they said £299. So maybe that's the most costeff-ective answer to the problem.

Is that located close to the diaphragm arrangement?

I'm thinking that I could trip the microswitch by hand and see if it fires up for the hot water. If it does then I'm kinda thinking that the diaphragm and/or the pin that pushes the microswitch are at fault?

An decent independent RGI will charge a lot less than £299 to change a diverter valve. Mine was done a couple of years back for about £80.
