Wonder if any techie minded people would help. My 17 year old son is looking for a laptop for Xmas. He would mainly use it for playing games ie world of warcraft etc. Can anyone recommend a good buy? I have some Amazon vouchers to use so a recommendation from Amazon would be great. Thanks:D

How much are you looking to spend? (Forget about any half-decent gaming on anything <£650). Some specific spec details to look out for are ...
Intel Core i3 CPU minimum, Core i5 better, Core i7 if you can stretch
4GB RAM minimum
Discrete graphics card (NOT onboard graphics).0 -
Have you looked on dell outlet ?
cancelled orders , refurbs and discontinued stock
You need to keep checking as these are individual items and as some are sold more are added.
I bought a decent XPS L502x for £500 for my son that retails around £800
The spec was Core i7 ( sandybridge)
6 Gb ram
2 gb graphics card
and the large battery
The only thing I didn't get that would have been nice was a screen upgrade ...( This was a cancelled order )
If you want a better bang for your buck than have a look around there.
There is often free delivery ...But beware the price you first see does not include VAT.
Remember if you take the link from Quidco through the dell site that takes you to the outlet ...Then Quidco tracks ..That was another £25 returned.0 -
Yes, Try the Dell XPS range.
£650 will get you a nice 15" screen laptop that will play current games acceptably well.0 -
