Stop going shopping. After 6 months you will have broken the conditioning programmed into you by the media, ads, salesmen, etc. Seeing your debts coming down will really feel good.

I always thought as I had the bills covered that we must be balancing, but how wrong I was. When I budget in everything including the years holidays, car servicing, child's ballet lessons, birthday presents, christmas presents etc, I was completely gobsmacked to learn that we overspend per month by at least £400.00 per month more than we earn :eek: To write everything down in the only way to get a true and accurate figure. What normally happens is we get by each month and then the car needs an MOT, car tax and a service and we don't have the £500.00 for it and so the card comes out. In an ideal world, I would be saving all my yearly outgoings every month, but with a £400 defecit we have to cross that bridge when we get to it (and frantically ebay!)Just keep swimming!0
