Hi everyone, can someone please tell me what directx 9 is, and how can I find out if it is installed on my PC.

Short answer no, but directx is an interface between programs and hardware (graphics/sound) you dont say which version of Windows you have (I am assuming you are not using Mac/Linux) usually if you press the start (windows key) and type dxdiag it should find dxdiag and then press enter it will tell you which version of direct x you have.
If it says anything other than 9 no worries the thing that you are trying to use should install it for you , most directx progs put the stuff in their own folder and wont upset what you have already.
