Switched to npower, but for the wrong address

We live in a flat in a converted Victorian terrace. There are two other flats in the building.

Last week I switched to npower through MoneySupermarket. The contract came in the post today. I noticed that it just had the house number on it, not the flat. So I phoned npower to make sure that they switched our supply, not our neighbours'. Unsurprisingly, they got it wrong. Apparently, MoneySupermarket gave them the wrong info. They quickly cancelled the contract. They also gave me the MPR and MPAN for our gas and electricity meters to make sure it doesn't happen again.

The moral of the story is make sure that they have the correct address, or you could end up paying your neighbours' bills.
