Product Repairs Covered by UK Law

Hello.
I paid for a repair for my Xbox 360. The engineer fixed the problem, but it has reappeared 75 days on from the initial work.
The company has a 60 day parts and labour guarantee. This has expired, but I want to know if they can decide the length of their guarantee or if this is underpinned by UK law... aka the sales of goods and services act or something similar?
Or am i just unlucky and have to pay for another repair (which could fail within a couple of months again!) or buy a brand new machine.
Thank you for your help in advance.
Mike

unless u can prove the repairer used inferious parts, your kinda nailed!
If its RROD again, i got that (again), but what stops it coming back is the under xbox fan pad and the fan pack for the rear too... not exactly quiet, but keeps my 'special' xbox going

if it's rrod, why not send it back to microsoft (given it's within 3 years of purchasing it?) for a replacement consolehelpful tips
it's spelt d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y
there - 'in or at that place'
their - 'owned by them'
they're - 'they are'
it's bought not brought (i just bought my chicken a suit from that new shop for £6.34)0 -
It is E74 (1 ring) - so cant send that back after a year.0
