Windows 7 and Windows Mail

Last week I was given a new laptop with Windows 7 on it, up till now I have been using XP.
I downloaded the 2011 version of Windows Mail and set up my e-mail accounts onto that. My main Hotmail account is not showing any e-mails before August 2011, they are all still in Hotmail if I check via MSN website so they have not been deleted.
On previous laptop and netbook with XP it is fine, all e-mails there so I am assuming it is a Windows 7 thing. I even changed to the 2009 version of Live Mail but still the older e-mails are not there.
Anyone know of any fixes for this?

on the 2011 version (cause that's the one I have)
try:
on the left hand side are your email folders, click on the 'inbox' in question (the one that only goes back to august)
right click on that folder
select 'properties'
select the 'synchronize' tab
select 'all messages (headers and bodies)'
then click 'ok'
and then perform a 'send/recieve'
does that fix it?
do that for all folders you want to sync (eg sent, drafts)0 -
There is a setting somewhere that will ask you how far back you want to download the emails from. It automatically sets to 2 or 3 months...my laptop doesn't have Windows Mail but I'll find it on my desktop later if you haven't found it then.0

"all messages" was already selected.TysonTheTyreMan wrote: »Totally random thought but it might have something to do with the amount of emails? too many maybe?
I doubt it as neither version will give me them all on this new laptop but no problem on XP netbook or old laptop that this Windows 7 one was replacement for.0 -

If you could point me in right direction of that I would really appreciate it, thank you!0 -
