Data transfer from sony ericsson to laptop via usb

Hiya, newbie to this particular forum.

I have been unsuccessfully trying to get the photo's from my k800i to my laptop, I have got the software on but it doesn't seem able to acknowledge my phone or my DH's(yes..we have the same one), or if it does it's very briefly and then loses it.

Any ideas???

i didn't need to install any software, the K800 doesn't apparently need it if you just want to access files on the phone/memory stick

Try MyPhoneExplorer (http://www.fjsoft.at/en/) - It is one of the best pieces of software of SE phones out there.

are all the drivers installed? It goes through quite a lengthy install process.

Also if you have 2 phone you must have 2 USB cables. Try the other one. The first one might be faulty.

The same with the USB socket. Try another one. You usually get a minimum of 2!

i'm not sure if the k800 is the same as the w850i but when i plug it into the usb cable, the phone asks if i want to run it in phone mode or usb file transfer.. if so select the second and you should be able to do the rest through my computer... as long as if the drive for the phone is installed which i'm sure is part of the pc suite which can be located here.. http://www.sonyericsson.com/spg.jsp?cc=gb&lc=en&ver=4000&template=ps1_1_3_1&zone=ps&lm=ps1_1&pid=10407
