hi guys
im looking at buying a new desktop. i want a fairly high end system, to do some online gaming and stuff like that. had a near mis, was about to order from cube, and then found some info on here, so would like some recommendations from anyone with good experiences. im also considering building my own, but have never tried before. i have looked at dell, but they dont include the 8800 nvidia graphics cards. evesham are current fav. i have a budget of around £1500.
thanks

One of those cards will nearly be a third of your budget, Nvidia are releasing some more of the 8 series in about 2 months time, better value cards with lightning performance.formerly mrmilo690

i have had a look at alienware, and was massively impressed with the specs, and the prices. unfortunatley i cant wait 2 months for the new spec nvidias to be released, my laptop is falling over to often and is just to slow, and i have been putting off buying for ages as it is. will check out the other recommendations today. thanks guys.Mortgage £242500 on completion

Well, perhaps build a system around a E6600 £200 depending on whether you want to overclock or not, you could spend between £140 -£220 for the ram. 8800GTX for about £330, Antec Nine Hundred is a nice case, at least i would think so. OCZ GameXstream 600W PSU would do. All those mentions above are pretty good parts, the end decision would be up to you, but it would be a nice machine.formerly mrmilo690

just a thanks to all who gave advice on this, and an update. have order sys from evesham (2years 0% finance swayed it). i got e6600, 1mb ram(will buy more at payday, they wanted £115 for ram costing £62) nvidia 8800 gtx 768mb, creative xfi, illiyama 19" 2ms monitor, plus few other bits for just over £1600 delivered, plus rpoints.
cheers allMortgage £242500 on completion
