I have just picked up a P reg Vectra gls 16v for work (oddjob Man)

it didn't come with a manual (for £500 im happy with decent tires and 6 months tax + Mot) there is a button on the dash I am not sure of

 it looks like a man running away with lines behind him

WHAT IS IT FOR

 im guessing alarm but want to know why its next to the hazard lights and would asume the alarm turns on when I press the key fob thingy. Any ideas???

  • hi

my husband had a p reg vectra until recently.
he found a lot of good information on a website called vvoc.co.uk

here is a link to a thread that may answer your question:
    http://www.vvoc.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=14449&highlight=alarm+light

if this link doesnt help, could still be worth registering, the site has a lot of useful info and the users are very friendly.

    hope this helps.

This is just a wild guess ... I don't know Vectra's. A lot of alarms have motion sensors to detect if someone's inside the car who shouldn't be. But if you have dog or other pet you leave in the car, they would set off the alarm when you don't want it to. So there is usually some way of disabling the motion sensor bit of the alarm - could that be what this button does?

the sensors are on the b pillar between the driver and the passenger compartment, as described - it is the internal motion sensor of the alarm.
