Hi, if you have high running costs associated with your Gledhill Electramate 2000 (Wet based heating system), please get in touch on this forum thread, we are keen to understand the scope of the problem and may be able to offer advice to help address your problem.

Kind Regards, EHRS (Electric Heating System Review Team)

    So you are not actually from Gledhill, then?

    Let's see, thermal store too small, so peak rate electricity is used to boost the heating.

    That sounds fun, so you are going to sell them 2,000 litre thermal stores. The two tonne weight will fall through the floor if filled.
    So you have to commission by starting the fill-up, but have to take the money and run before the cylinders are full.

    Kind Regards, Someone who wants to use other peoples resource without paying )

    - pay Martin for the use of his site, or better still ;
    - forget about the running costs and fix your carp badly designed system first, and then ;
    - pay Martin's site for your feedback.

    Oh no .. .. a thought .. .. after fixing the shonkey design, carp quality components and reliability issues you will be so out of wonka you won't be able to pay Martin :D

  • Thanks for the comments ! No we are not Gledhill. Just noticed that these systems can easily be incorrectly installed. Once corrected, you can save at least 20% of the yearly electricity bill and may be entitled to compensation on previous electricity bills. It adds up....
  • we are still going through 60-70 units of electric a day (£220-270 / month on economy 10). This is with the heating not on much and we are out all day.

    We have a failed element and an engineer is coming to replace this and fit a new pump. What is normal consumption for boilers of this sort?

    Any thoughts would be welcome. Many thanks

    It would be helpful if you told the group:

    - who you are
    - who you represent
    - and your purpose here

    It's difficult to decide your purpose other than profiting from Martins webpages, which is of course clearly against the forum rules. Can I assume one way or the other you intend your posts here to be 'pimping' for business ? - or is your offer of 20%pa off users annual leccy bill & compensation and an offer of free help and an unconditional gift from yourself, in which case I applaud your input and hope that Martin's board managers do not pull your posting rights.

    Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, and tell us more, much more EHSR.
