Hi All,

How are birthday notifications on Facebook activated and deactivated?

by sharing date of birth.............if you share it it'll show to other if you don't it won't, is that what you mean?

Your birthday or other people's?

If it's yours, you could hide your birthday in the settings:
On your profile page click Edit profile at the top - Birthdays - change the right hand Friends to Only Me.

Not sure if you can prevent notifications of other people's birthdays...

I've noticed on my FB homepage if it's any of my friendss birthday and reminder stays on my homepage all day, is it possible to remove this reminder appearing on other people's profiles when it comes to my birthday?

Yes. Don't enter the detail. In your profile there is a section marked "Birthday" where you enter the date and then choose to share it (or not).

You can only set it to appear or not appear, you can't set it to appear for a few hours lets say.
