Home Insurance - Kitchen covered under Buildings or Contents?

Had assumed that it was covered under buildings, but about to take out a new insurance policy and have just been walking around my house working how much to insure contents for, and suddenly realised that the kitchen must surely be covered under contents I think. Anyone confirm this for me?

The units will be buildings. Any free standing items - potentially cooker, washer etc will be contents.
Think of it this way if you turned your house upside down the things that would fall would be contents the rest buildings. (in almost all circumstances)0
